Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a team of sanitation and quality professionals, fostering a performance-driven culture.
Ensure food safety systems (e.g., HACCP ) and prerequisite programs are robust and maintained.
Oversee audit preparation and regulatory engagement with external agencies.
Champion the Integrated Lean Six Sigma Quality Pillar to eliminate defects and embed best practices.
Drive Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) programs to reduce quality incidents.
Facilitate and lead monthly Quality Management System (QMS) reviews with the plant’s leadership team.
Maintain and report on quality-related KPIs and metrics.
Implement customer-centric programs including sensory evaluation, analytical equipment upgrades, and training.
Own consumer complaint resolution and internal investigations.
Lead site SSMT efforts, ensuring adherence to escalation protocols.
Engage cross-functionally to support product commercialization and regulatory compliance.
Required Background and Credentials:
BS in Food Science or related field – required
Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing setting – required
Minimum 7+ years in Quality within food or pharmaceutical sectors – required
Experience with sanitation – required
Experience with audit programs in a manufacturing environment – preferred
Demonstrated leadership in building high-performing teams and managing complex compliance systems
Familiarity with GFSI – FSSC , Kosher , Organic , and Rainforest Alliance certifications
Experience with food defense, budgeting, customer complaint resolution, and quality documentation
Less than 5% travel; standard weekday schedule with flexibility as needed
